NFL Report Cards: Miami Dolphins claim top spot, Washington Commandeers remain in last place

The National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) has come up with its much-awaited grades from players for the 2023 season. The report cards were revealed in Indianapolis at the NFL Scouting Combine. Unlike last year’s version, the annual player team report did not contain any mentions of rats this time. Prepared by Artemis Strategy Group and with 11 categories, this year’s report card, which was made for all the 32 teams, was more comprehensive. Overall, 1,706 players participated in the latest annual report cards.

In a major promotion this time, the Miami Dolphins claimed the first spot. They had occupied the second spot in the inaugural survey. The Jacksonville Jaguars’ position also significantly improved from last year’s 28th spot to fifth this time.

The Washington Commanders were at the bottom of the standings. Back-to-back Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid occupied the top spot in the coach rankings. Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, however, ranked last in the ownership charts.

“It is clear that there has not been a significant reinvestment back into the facilities even after consistent success. That has led to a high level of frustration among player respondents and reflects in club owner Clark Hunt’s ranking as the least willing to invest in team facilities among all NFL owners/ownership group in the opinions of the respondents,” read the Chiefs report card, as per NBC.

The Dallas Cowboys had to suffer a massive setback as they dropped from last year’s fifth position to 12th this time. “The players feel like they are very understaffed in this department, and it is difficult to get the necessary preparation and treatment to perform at their best. Only 62 percent of the players feel like they get an adequate amount of one-on-one treatment time, which ranks 30th in the NFL. The other issue mentioned was that the players feel the training room lacks basic equipment that you would expect to be standard in any other training facility,” the report card read.

While the Chargers claimed the 30th spot, the Patriots remained at 29 and the Steelers at 28. In the top half, the Vikings found themselves at the second position.
