Lewis Hamilton reportedly unhappy with Ferrari car’s inconsistency: 'He doesn’t like it at all'

Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton is reportedly not enjoying his time at Ferrari, only three races into the 2025 season. Hamilton switched from Mercedes to Ferrari at the start of the Formula 1 2025 season in one of the biggest moves in sporting history.

However, things have not gone according to plan for the Briton drive in the first three races. He finished 10th in the Australian Grand Prix before being disqualified at the Chinese Grand Prix. The disqualification was a result of excessive plank wear.

At the latest Japanese Grand Prix, Hamilton came seventh. The 40-year-old is currently eighth in the driver standings with just 15 points and 47 behind McLaren's Lando Norris.

Hamilton unhappy with Ferrari's inconsistency

One of the key problems with this year’s Ferrari is its limited operating window — it performs at its best only under very specific conditions involving setup, temperature, and track characteristics.

According to Bild, Hamilton is far from pleased with that. He has only been able to get the most out of his Ferrari in short bursts.

Hamilton, however, is hoping things will change at the upcoming Bahrain Grand Prix. He recently revealed that Ferrari has upgraded its car.

“We’ve got an upgrade this weekend so I’m excited we’re going to hopefully have a bit more downforce,” Hamilton told Sky Sports F1. “I’m not really feeling a huge amount of issues just we lack overall performance at the moment pace wise, which we will hopefully take a step this weekend.

“On my side, it’s rear-end a little bit [I’m struggling with] and that’s about it.”

Hamiton's teammate Charles Leclerc is sixth in the driver standings with 20 points.

By winning the 2025 season, Hamiton is hoping to become the first driver ever to win the Formula 1 title eight times.
