Reports from Esdiario and journalist Sergio Valentín claim that Mourinho and club president Florentino Perez held a one-hour video conference.

Mourinho is said to be seeking absolute sporting control, a complete restructuring of the medical department, and full disciplinary authority over the squad. The Portuguese manager is currently under contract at Benfica until 2027.
