Kylian Mbappe is being trolled by Real Madrid fans for a social media post midway through the El Clásico against Barcelona, which the Los Blancos lost 2-0. Barcelona's convincing win amid Mbappe's absence propelled the La Blaugrana to the La Liga title with three games remaining.

Real were already 11 points behind Barcelona with just four matches left in the ongoing La Liga season, but Madrid fans hoped for a turnaround with a win in the final El Clásico of the season. However, Mbappe's absence from the matchday squad was a big blow for them.

Mbappe trolled by fans for 'trolling' Real Madrid

Mbappe has not played for Real Madrid since suffering a hamstring injury against Real Betis on 24 April, and he was left out of the matchday squad as the medical team felt it was not a risk worth taking.

However, Mbappe caught attention with his social media activity during the match. He posted an Instagram story in support of Real Madrid, writing “Hala Madrid” during the 36th minute of the game when his team was already 2-0 down.

While Mbappe may have wanted to send a message of support to his teammates, many Real Madrid fans felt that the striker was trolling his own club.

Mbappe and Real Madrid fans have been at loggerheads recently as a petition to have him removed from the club has already attracted over 70 million signatures.

The 27-year-old Mbappe was also attacked by the fans over his "Hala Madrid" Instagram story as a few criticised him of "hatewatching" and enjoying Real's downfall.

"Waited to be down 2-0 to post ?? Is he hatewatching," a fan wrote on X.

Another fan said: “This guy knows what he is doing he is probably happy we can’t say we play better without him.”

A fan also pointed out that maybe Mbappe was not trolling Real Madrid but their fans.

"Man is really trolling those who blamed it for the team woes.”

Meanwhile, Real Madrid will be finishing the season for a second consecutive time without a major trophy. There are strong rumours that Jose Mourinho will replace current manager Alvaro Arbeloa in the summer.
