Jose Mourinho sets two conditions to become next Real Madrid manager

Jose Mourinho is reportedly inches away from returning to Real Madrid after the club lost 2-0 to Barcelona in last weekend's El Clásico. Barcelona won the La Liga title by beating their arch rivals and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has made up his mind to make the big changes.

The stories of the fight between Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde, Kylian Mbappe's holiday trips during his injury rehabilitation and manager Alvaro Arbeloa's failure to control a dressing room that has many headstrong superstars, including Vinicius Junior, have made the change inevitable.

Mourinho conditions for Real Madrid

Mourinho guided Real Madrid to the 2012 La Liga title and had a fairly successful tenure at the club, winning 72% of the games and breaking Barcelona's stronghold on the league title. And while he is willing to return to Real, Mourinho has two conditions to take up the job.

Mourinho's condition No 1: The former Chelsea manager wants to have a strong control on the club’s transfer strategy. While he doesn't want to pick the players for transfers, he wants to dictate which areas need strengthening, according to Diario AS.

Mourinho feels Real Madrid's current squad is unbalanced, and reinforcements are strongly needed in the midfield area.

Mourinho's condition No 2: Mourinho also wants a free hand in dealing with team matters and very little interference from the board or senior club officials. President Florentino Perez is the only one he is willing to listen to and all team matters will be handled by Mourinho and his staff.

The second condition could be a tough one for Real Madrid considering how rigid the club is and given its history of institutional hierarchy, but then again, they are currently not having a good time as a team and need something to turn around their fortunes.
