France vs Iraq Live Score: France will be aiming to extend their winning start to their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign in pursuit of a third world title when they face Iraq in their second Group I fixture in Philadelphia on Monday. Kylian Mbappe had scored a brace as France began their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Senegal at the New York/New Jersey Stadium on 16 June.

And on Monday at the Philadelphia Stadium, the Real Madrid star will be hoping to be among the goals once again. Mbappe, after all, is in the race for the Golden Boot award along with the likes of Argentina's Lionel Messi, England's Harry Kane and others, and will be aiming to stay in contention for the award. He's also closing in on Messi in the list of leading goal-scorers in the history of the FIFA World Cup, and will be hoping to stay within touching distance of his former Paris Saint-Germain teammate.

France, Iraq set to lock horns for the first time ever

Iraq, returning to the World Cup after 40 years for what is only their second appearance ever, had begun their campaign with a 1-4 defeat at the hands of Norway in Boston last week. Aymen Hussein had fired the equaliser for the Lions of Mesopotamia 10 minutes after Erling Haaland put the Norwegians in the lead, but also conceded an own goal six minutes into stoppage time shortly before the final whistle.

Haaland would end up completing a brace on World Cup debut, restoring his team's lead in the 43rd minute while Leo Ostigard scored their third goal in the 76th-minute.

France and Iraq, incidentally have never faced each other before and will be locking horns for the first time at the biggest football event of them all on Monday, with the former the firm favourites to collect their second win in as many outings.
