AIFF member Deepak Sharma released on bail by Goa Police in physical assault case
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Mapusa) Sandesh Chodanka said that since the sections under which Sharma was booked were bailable, he was released after producing the surety.
Deepak Sharma, an Executive Committee member of the AIFF, was released on bail by Goa Police on Sunday, an official was reported as saying by news agency PTI. Deepak was arrested by the Mapusa Police on Saturday after two women players of Khad FC, a Himachal Pradesh-based football club, had filed a complaint against him regarding alleged physical assault.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Mapusa) Sandesh Chodankar told PTI that since the sections under which Sharma was booked were bailable, he was released after producing the surety.
Chodankar said Sharma could not get the surety on Saturday due to which he was kept in police custody after being put through medical examination.

A group of players, however, had claimed that Sharma was innocent. Sharma is also the secretary-general of the Himachal Pradesh Football Association.
