"The first half was really tough and the third for us helped us a lot. At half-time, we said that the solution was to play on the front foot and play our game. We did that in the second half and I am very happy," Barca coach Hansi Flick said after the match.

On Barcelona's chances of winning the Champions League, Flick said: "This is the Champions League and there are no easy games. We have to take it one step at a time."

For Liverpool, Dominik Szoboszlai, Hugo Ekitike, Ryan Gravenberch and Mohamed Salah scored a goal each as they made Galatasaray pay a price for failing to score more than one goal in the first leg. Liverpool progressed to the quarter-finals with a 4-1 aggregate win.

For Spurs, Xavi Simons struck twice, while Randal Kolo Muani scored one in their 3-2 win over Atleti. Julian Alvarez and David Hancko were goal-scorers for the Spanish team. Atletico progressed as a result of their 5-2 win in the first leg.
