Formula 1 driver Arvid Lindblad explores something different from the steering wheel, fast cars and thrilling race tracks by getting his hands on a bat and engaging in cricket during his visit to Mumbai.

Arvid Lindblad has emerged as the poster boy of India's growing motorsports scene. The 18-year-old racing prodigy with Indian roots has risen to prominence through grit and perseverance and is now making waves with the Visa CashApp Racing Bulls F1 team.

Ahead of his Formula 1 debut, Arvid Lindblad had visited Mumbai to explore his Indian roots. The Racing Bulls F1 driver shared a vlog from his visit on YouTube, where he was seen visiting some of the city's most vibrant spots with his family members.

Arvid also visited Mumbai's Azad Maidan, a prominent hub for local cricket, and engaged with young cricketers. While wearing an India ODI jersey, he struck some big shots with the bat and seemed to have a steady hand in the game. He also clicked pictures with them before leaving.

Arvid Lindblad made history during his F1 debut

Arvid Lindblad became only the third driver of Indian origin to race in F1, following in the footsteps of Karun Chandhok and Narain Karthikeyan, after making his debut in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix with the Racing Bulls F1 team, making a significant impact after finishing eighth and scoring points for the team. The Swedish-British racing driver became one of the youngest point scorers in F1 history and also became Britain's youngest to do so.

Lindblad continued to deliver steady performances in China and Japan but remained out of points after finishing 12th in both races. Arvid will be back in action when Formula 1 heads to the United States for the Miami Grand Prix on May 4, 2026, at the Miami International Autodrome.
