Archery Association of India to organise tournament at SAI centre in Sonepat

To tap young talents from the northern zone, the Archery Association of India (AAI) will organise a tournament at SAI's National Centre of Excellence in Sonepat on 7 November.The tournament will be held at senior and junior levels in both recurve and compound sections."These events are planned with the aims to enhance domestic competition, mass participation and to give an opportunity to the archers of the Northern region," AAI secretary general Pramod Chandurkar said in a release.Khelo India archery events will be included in the AAI calendar as a regular feature and the competitions in other zones will be announced soon, he added.Both AAI and SAI are hopeful that such events will give a big boost to develop grassroot level archers and to upgrade the performance of elite archers at the same time.AAI extends tie-up with NTPC Ltd.The Archery Association of India on Monday announced a three-year extension of their tie-up with NTPC Ltd.The NTPC first signed a memorandum of agreement in November 2018 under which the Maharatna company got the title sponsorship rights of various national tournaments."With the support of NTPC, AAI is able to provide a series of competition exposures, best coaching facilities, equipment, playing kits etc to the Indian archers," AAI secretary general Chandurkar said in a statement."We are proud to have AAI as our partner as they are working very hard for bringing more laurels and glory for the country in the years to come," MSD Bhattamishra, ED (CSR/R/R&R) of NTPC said.NTPC also has the exclusive right to provide apparels to Indian senior, junior, sub-junior teams at international level.
