Watch: World's heaviest woman Eman Ahmed to receive free treatment from Mumbai doctors

The doctors of Saifee hospital will help the world's heaviest woman lose four-fifths of her weight through extensive treatment and surgeries free of cost

For 36-year-old Eman Ahmed, the heaviest woman in the world at 500 kg, her trip to Mumbai was one that her life depended upon. The journey that concluded at the wee hours of Saturday, would see Eman admitted to Saifee hospital. According to a report by The Hindustan Times, Eman will have to lose four-fifths of her weight to reach a healthy size.A modified Airbus 300-600 of Egyptair landed on 4.10 am right as scheduled and helped Eman, along with her sister Shaimaa Ahmed reach the hospital. They were escorted to the hospital via a specially designed bed of Eman on an open truck which was escorted by an ambulance and police van to Saifee Hospital.Two doctors had also accompanied Eman from Egypt to India. Top officials including Egyptian consulate general Ahmed Khalil were present until Eman was safely admitted in the hospital.An extensive line of treatment and surgeries is slated to treat Eman for the next six months. That's not all, the hospital will be treating Eman for free for both the treatment and surgeries. This won't be an easy task though. According to Zee, she suffers from various complications including type 2 diabetes, hypertension, hypothyroidism, severe obstructive and restrictive lung disease and gout.The doctors displayed no hesitation about this high risk, charitable treatment. When asked about why the doctors were undertaking this pro bono venture, the doctors said that seeing the images that depict how Eman hasn't moved at all inspired them to help her, the treatments would give her the freedom and independence that her condition has taken away from her.This wasn't the only act of kindness towards Eman. A fundraiser was also set up to help her receive treatment. #SaveEman managed to collect over Rs 7 lakh worth of funds.Even Sushma Swaraj managed to make this treatment a reality. Eman's visa application had initially been refused, but an Sushma Swaraj intervened to help her get a medical visa.
