Copenhagen: Queen of Denmark Margrethe II extended a warm reception to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Copenhagen, capital of Denmark, on Tuesday.Prime Minister Modi felicitated the Queen on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of her reign, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said on Twitter.The 82-year-old Queen has been Denmark's reigning monarch since 1972. The Danish monarchy is one of the oldest in the world."Her Majesty, the Queen of the Kingdom of Denmark, Margrethe II extended a warm reception to PM Narendra Modi. Prime Minister felicitated Her Majesty on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of her reign," the MEA spokesperson said in a tweet.The Royal House Kongehuset, in a statement issued on 27 April, said that after the Queen receives Prime Minister Narendra Modi in audience, Her Majesty will host an official dinner afterwards in Christian VII's Palace at Amalienborg. The Crown Prince Couple will be present at both the reception and the dinner.Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit takes place in connection with the Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen's official visit to India in October 2021.It will be the first time in 20 years that an Indian prime minister has made an official visit to Denmark, the Royal House added.Earlier on Tuesday, PM Modi met his Denmark PM Mette Frederiksen in Copenhagen and the two leaders held extensive discussions on the full range of bilateral cooperation as well as matters of regional and global interests.PM Modi, who arrived in Denmark from Germany on the second leg of his three-nation Europe trip, was welcomed by PM Frederiksen upon his arrival at Marienborg - the official residence of the Prime Minister of Denmark - for talks. As a special gesture, Frederiksen earlier received PM Modi at the airport.The two leaders held talks in a one-on-one format, followed by delegation-level talks, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said."The two Prime Ministers held extensive discussions on the full range of bilateral cooperation as also on matters of regional and global interests," Kwatra told reporters while briefing about the meeting.PM Modi's visit comes amid the Ukraine crisis, which has united much of Europe against Russia.Kwatra said the bilateral discussions between the two leaders also resulted in "productive outcomes."He said a Letter of Intent was signed on smart water management, on green shipping, and an announcement was also made about the launch of ministerial energy dialogue between the two countries. "These three outcomes would strengthen the Green Strategic Partnership between our two countries," he added.Both the leaders also expressed their commitment to expedite the discussion and conclusion of the India-EU Free Trade Agreement.There were also discussions on bilateral cooperation in the Arctic region, he said, adding that an important outcome was a joint declaration of intent on migration and mobility that would further strengthen our cooperation, including through expansion in trade and services.Discussions also covered cooperation in renewable energy, especially offshore wind energy and green hydrogen, as well as skill development, health, shipping, water and the Arctic, among others.Both the Prime Ministers reviewed progress of the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a press release.Read all the Latest News, Trending News, Cricket News, Bollywood News,India News and Entertainment News here.
