Indore bags India’s cleanest city title for 8th time in govt’s annual cleanliness surve

Madhya Pradesh's Indore has emerged as India's cleanest city for the eighth time in a row in the central government's annual cleanliness survey. Indore was followed by Surat and Navi Mumbai.

The results of the ‘Swachh Survekshan’ were announced on Thursday, where Noida, a city in Uttar Pradesh, was the cleanest among the category of 3-10 lakh population, followed by Chandigarh and Mysore.

"It is a matter of immense pride for the people of the state that the honorable President Mrs. Draupadi Murmu ji honored Indore as the cleanest city in the country in the 'Super Clean League Cities' category at the Swachh Survekshan-2024 award ceremony. It is noteworthy that for the past 7 years, Indore has secured the top position in the category of clean cities," Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said.

President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards to the winners at a ceremony held in New Delhi, attended by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal and other dignitaries.

Meanwhile, on July 10, a cleanliness drive was carried out across Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, to mark the 74th birthday of Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The initiative, led by Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharwal, saw active participation from sanitation workers and local residents.
