'Do not instigate children': PM Modi after violence during CJP protest over Neet paper leak

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday appealed for restraint following violence during the CJP protest over the Neet paper leak, urging people not to provoke children into unrest.

Stressing the responsibility of society to guide the younger generation, PM Modi said, "It is easy to go on the wrong path, but it is much tougher to come back onto the right path, and we have to bring them on the right path. That is our responsibility."

PM Modi calls for strict action 

PM Modi called for the toughest possible punishment for those behind examination paper leaks, stressing that preventing such incidents is a national responsibility, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said after the NDA Parliamentary Party's 'Mangal Milan' meeting on Tuesday. According to Rijiju, the Prime Minister also urged all stakeholders to work together to establish a foolproof examination system.

Quoting PM Modi, Rijiju said, "PM called on NDA partners to remain united in supporting legislative business and appealed to opposition parties to work constructively in Parliament, saying that while political differences may exist, all MPs have a shared responsibility to work for the country's future and the welfare of its youth."

This comes the day after thousands of supporters of the satirical Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) attempted to march towards Parliament despite a police ban, demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in the education system.

Police used tear gas and baton charges to disperse the protesters in central Delhi. Several demonstrators said they were injured during the action, while some members of the crowd reportedly threw stones. Delhi Police, however, refute the allegations.

The march followed weeks of demonstrations over examination paper leaks, including the Neet controversy, with protesters raising broader concerns about education and employment.
