Abu Dhabi-bound Etihad flight grounded In Chennai after wing fire scare

An Etihad Airways flight bound for Abu Dhabi was grounded at Chennai airport on Tuesday after a suspected fire or smoke alert was reported from one of the aircraft’s wings.

The flight was carrying around 280 passengers.

According to news agency PTI, the Etihad flight was preparing for take-off when the pilots noticed the fire. Subsequently, all passengers were safely disembarked and no injuries were reported to anyone.

Emergency response teams and fire service personnel rushed to the spot immediately after smoke and flames were reportedly noticed near the wing of the aircraft.

According to the report, fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished, preventing any further damage or danger to passengers and crew members.

All passengers were safely disembarked from the aircraft, and no injuries were reported in the incident. The flight had been cancelled following the scare.
