Rajasthan Royals' Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has displayed why he is the flag-bearer of Generation Next after scoring his second IPL hundred against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in Jaipur. On Thursday, the 15-year-old showcased brute force and ruthlessness by smashing a 36-ball century at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Rajasthan Royals made an emphatic start, thanks to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s attacking zeal. Following Yashasvi Jaiswal's early dismissal, the 15-year-old partnered with Dhruv Jurel to stabilise RR's momentum in the first innings.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashes second IPL ton

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored the third-fastest century in IPL history against SRH and already holds the record for scoring the second-fastest hundred in the tournament, which he did in 35 deliveries. Vaibhav's relentless display in IPL 2026 continues to amaze fans as he reached both his centuries in under 40 deliveries.

Vaibhav focused on his natural play

Following his record-setting knock, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi revealed that he never intends to hit a six on the first ball and remains focused on playing freely and trusting his natural play. The young centurion added that the wicket felt good, and he aimed to give his all for the team.

"I don't have a plan for a first-ball six. Before the match, we planned to play freely. To back our game. I thought the wicket was playing well, so I backed my game. For the team, I wanted to give my 100% and back my game. I thought about what shots I can play, and try to visualise it," Vaibhav Sooryavanshi said during the mid-innings break.

Vaibhav's stunning 103 off 37 helped the Rajasthan Royals score 228/6 in 20 overs. The Sunrisers Hyderabad need 229 to win.
