Prasidh Krishna, Nitish Reddy back in business for Team India as Afghanistan decides to bat first in 3rd ODI

Afghanistan has won the toss, and skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi has decided to bat first in the third and final one-day match of the series on Saturday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The Shubman Gill-led Team India have already won the ODI series after sealing wins over Afghanistan in Dharamshala and Lucknow.

The Men in Blue have displayed unmatched dominance, and they intend to continue in similar fashion when they face AFG in the testing conditions of Chennai.

In terms of changes, Afghanistan have named four changes, with skipper Shahidi mentioning Nabi and Azmatullah's return during the toss.

No place for Harshit Rana just yet in Team India, as skipper Shubman Gill revealed that Prasidh, Harsh Dubey and Nitish Reddy are back in their Playing XI.

Team India have already secured a series victory after winning consecutive matches against Afghanistan in Dharamshala and Lucknow.

The visitors would be keen to avoid a whitewash defeat, while the Men in Blue intend to end the series on a high note before jetting off for away white-ball assignments in Ireland and England.

Gill: We haven't ticked the box while chasing yet

As Team India prepares to chase in Chennai, Gil stressed the importance of being a reliable unit during run-chases, especially against high scores.

He also pointed out that successful chasing is still a box they haven’t ticked yet, and the Chennai ODI would test that ability.

"It's about being consistent in the areas we're looking at. We'll be chasing in this match, and chasing big scores consistently and comfortably is one area where we haven't quite ticked the box yet," the Indian captain said at the toss.
