Watch: Aamir Khan gets 'out-wrestled' by son Azad in this Dangal training video
It was not just the weight loss that Aamir Khan had to deal with. This video shows the rigorous wrestling training he underwent for Dangal

Those of us who have seen Dangal, got goosebumps in the wrestling scene between Aamir Khan's character Mahavir Phogat and his daughter Geeta Phogat, played by Fatima Sana Shaikh. It was quite evident that a lot of blood and sweat have gone into the scene, particularly from Khan, who was a jaw-dropping 97 Kg at that time.[caption id="attachment_3177690" align="alignleft" width="380"]

YouTube[/caption]The makers of Dangal have now released a video that depicts Khan's wrestling training sessions through some behind-the-scenes footage and the intermittent narration by Khan and his wrestling trainer, the coach of the Indian wrestling team Arjuna awardee Kripa Shankar Bishnoi Beniwal. In the first few moments of the video, Khan shares an adorable moment with his son Azad as he sportingly allows Azad to take him down on the wrestling mat and then celebrates his five-year old son's victory over the 51 year-old father.Aamir then goes on to explain how his slow movements complemented the scene as it allowed the users to juxtapose the old Phogat with how swift he used to be in his younger days as an active professional wrestler. The training used to take place everyday and Aamir used to assess his moves on the recording in order to get the nuances right.Beniwal explains how pleasantly surprised he was by Khan's ability to learn quickly and the innumerable times he picked up the technique or the wrestling move in the very first go. Khan, however, clarified that wrestling was a fine blend of technique and strength. Though he picked up rather quickly, he shared how excruciatingly tough the sport is and the intensity of thrashing one receives even while training for a match is too high.Khan's efforts seemed to have paid off as Dangal, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is receiving rave reviews from the critics and a commendable box-office collection as well.
