Plus-size model Ashley Graham graces cover of Elle Canada; courts controversy

Model Ashley Graham is making waves.Not only is she one of the best known plus size models to made it big in the industry, she has also graced the covers of magazines like Sports Illustrated and become on of the 'it' models to watch out for. She has appeared regularly in several Levi’s, Calvin Klein and Marina Rinaldi campaigns, and her list of designers include Nordstrom, H&M, Old Navy, Bloomingdale's and more.This is why Elle Canada jumped at the chance to have the full-figured beauty as their cover model for their October issue.The 29-year-old model opened up to Elle Canada about up her learning disability, why she chose to hold off on sex with her husband until after marriage and her determination to help women gain control of their body image.In February 2015, she stared in #CurvesinBikinis, a campaign with swimsuits for all that made her the first plus size model to appear in an ad in Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit edition.In 2015 she also started in two highly publicized Lane Bryant campaigns: #ImNoAngel and #PlusIsEqual. Graham regularly campaigns for body positivity and is a champion of accepting yourself for who you are.Graham even told the magazine, "I have cellulite. I have back fat. I've got a thick stomach. But I work my body like I don't because I don't know any other body. I don't know how to feel thin. I just know how to feel like Ashley."While the photoshoot does portray Graham beautifully, the magazine has come under fire for the accompanying photospread that depicts the bombshell in a seemingly different light from the un-retouched version of the shoot.Graham took some behind the scenes photograph herself and wrote "Someone once told me my thighs were 'cellulite city'. But I now realize these thighs tell a story of victory and courage. I will not let others dictate what they think my body should look like for their own comfort, and neither should you."  The plus size model appears in a black-and-white instead of color as she hangs from metal fitness rings with one leg in the air. The website PerezHilton.com compared Graham in either photo, and it looked like her thighs have been smoothened out on the picture.Graham is yet to comment on the controversy.
