Court case or high demand? Kochadaiiyaan release delayed to 23 May
The film's producers have claimed the delay was a result of the large demand for the film.

Just a day ahead of the scheduled release of superstar Rajinikanth's Kochadaiiyan, it turns out that the film won't be released and will hit screens only two weeks later on 23 May.In a release on the film's Facebook page, Eros International said in order to cater to the large demand for the 2D and 3D prints of of the film, the release had to be delayed to 23 May.[caption id="attachment_1513657" align="alignleft" width="380"]

I cannot reveal more on that," the source told TOI.The report quoted unnamed sources as saying that a bank had moved a court order against the film seeking repayment of a loan amounting to over Rs 40 crore.The producers have also promised a refund to all moviegoers who had already purchased their tickets online.
