EXCLUSIVE | Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan's 'Batwara 1947' teaser likely to drop on June 17- Details inside

Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi have 100% track record at the box office. The Actor and the director have collaborated on three movies together. And three decades after the super hit Ghatak, they are coming together for Batwara 1947, which was earlier titled Lahore 1947. It also stars Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi and is produced by Aamir Khan Productions. According to a lot of reports, the teaser of the film was supposed to be out today. June 15 is the day when one of the most iconic class of Hindi cinema happened- Gadar and Lagaan.

But we have exclusively learned that the teaser will not be out today. Most likely, the makers are about to share the teaser on 17th June. And if inside reports are to be believed, this is going to be yet another gripping film by the filmmaker. And the audiences add critics will get to see a new side of the leading man, which could be a departure from his recent blockbusters like Jaat, Border 2, and Gadar 2. Zinta and Deol have done films like Farz, The Hero, and Bhaiyaji Superhittt together. The film has been in the news for more than two years. And Sunny Deol is going through a purple patch at the box-office.

Sunny Deol to face-off with Abhimanyu Singh in the period drama

As the film is all set to bring the never-seen-before trio of Sunny Deol, Rajkumar Santoshi, and Aamir Khan together, it will also see a powerful villain. The director Rajkumar Santoshi has roped in Abhimanyu Singh as the villain of the drama.

The filmmaker was quoted saying, "Usually, whenever we think of a villain’s character, the first few names that come to our mind are Amrish ji and Danny ji but we have to look forward and see who’s taking the baton ahead. Interestingly, we have roped in Abhimanyu Singh who will be seen playing a strong and lead role as antagonist in Lahore 1947. His intensity, his voice, and his conviction are truly unbeatable. He is undoubtedly one of the most talented actors we have in our industry."
