We wonder if it was for the role of Dutt's first wife, Richa Sharma or Rhea Pillai, his second wife.A DNA report mentions that Sanjay Dutt will also be a part of his biopic. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan has refused to play the role of Sanjay's father Sunil Dutt in the film.A Deccan Chronicle report says that Hirani has made the film on the basis of recorded phone conversations he had with Dutt in jail. The daily reported, “When Rajkumar Hirani started doing research for his next film, he used to talk to Sanjay and recorded the conversations to avoid missing any anecdotes. The two also used to meet every day for a month. After the director finished his research, he wrote the screenplay completely based on these recordings.”Hirani began filming on 25 February, when Sanjay Dutt walked out of Yerwada Jail after completing his jail term. Cameras placed out of the jail recorded the dramatic moment when Dutt touched the ground, saluted the Indian flag and then left the jail premises with a bag on his shoulder. The shoot for the film will begin in January 2017.
