24: Legacy is bringing back one of its most iconic characters, Tony Almeida

The much awaited return of Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard), Jack Bauer's frenemy who had his own fan cult following in the series, to the world of 24, will finally take place on Monday, 13 March 2017 in the episode 6:00pm to 7:00pm.[caption id="attachment_3335286" align="alignleft" width="380"] Carlos Bernard as Tony Almeida in 24. Image via Youtube[/caption]It's easy to draw parallels of Tony’s trajectory with that of Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) himself — both men ended up traveling down a tortured path, destroyed by the loss of their wives while still trying to protect America at any cost. Much like Bauer, Almeida was once considered a traitor — but unlike Jack, Tony was not only presumed dead at one point — he went off the deep end, resurfacing as a perceived terrorist threat later in the series.For Bernard, returning to the role he played for six seasons was a strange yet familiar experience. None of his original castmates were there, but he knew many of the crew members and was given the same gun he used on 24. So how was it returning to 24: Legacy minus Sutherland?"I had a great time working on it. I was a little nervous about coming back to do it, to be totally honest with you," Bernard tells Entertainment Weekly. "I'm pretty happy with the way it went.
