Volvo V90 Cross Country India launch confirmed, expected to arrive next year

Automobile maker Volvo is going to reveal a new version of its popular station wagon, the V90 Cross Country this month. While the new fourth generation of the car is still under the wraps, the company had released a teaser confirming the launch. Now according to a source, the new car is confirmed to launch in India but can be expected to arrive by next year.The new car will be based on the new V90 but will be a taller and a more rugged-looking station wagon that could replace the XC70. According to teaser, the car will feature black plastic trim over the rocker panels, on the wheel arches, and on both ends along with brushed aluminum accents. Of course you will get optional roof rails and alloy wheels. It will also feature Volvo's signature Thor's hammer T-shaped LED daytime running lights.Another source claims that the Cross Country will be powered by a 2 litre four-cylinder engine which will be able to generate 250bhp along with a turbocharger and 316bhp when equipped with both a turbo and a supercharger. The car will come with an all-wheel drive as a standard.The Paris Auto Show is scheduled for next month but there is a possibility that the car will make a debut before the event. There is also a high-possibility that Volvo will not be a part of the auto show considering the company’s withdrawal from all but three major motor shows.
