Round 2 of the MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship ended on Sunday at the MMRT track in Sriperumbudur which celebrated its silver jubilee this year.

In the Group B 165cc Open class, TVS Racing’s Jagan Kumar finished first on his RTR 160 with little difficulty against fellow competitors such as Rajini Krishnan of Moto-Rev Yamaha and Harry Sylvester of TVS Racing who finished behind him in that order. Jagan swept up a lead by Turn-1 and slowly widened the gap during the race. He was quoted saying, “I had a good start and by the first corner, I was comfortably ahead. However, in the first three laps, I controlled the pace and was prepared to push, but I did not receive much of a challenge.”

On Day Two though, he had a stroke of bad luck with a flat tyre on his second lap, but managed to finish the race. Rajini grabbed this opportunity and placed first ahead of Harry Sylvester and Sarath Kumar of Ten10 Racing.

In the Group C 165cc Open class race, Prabhu Arunagiri of Moto-Rev Yamaha Racing finished ahead of veteran Sumit Lucas Toppo of Pro Lap Racing and Ananth Raj P of Kingdom Racing India on Day One.

Vishwadev Muraleedharan seemed to have quite a winning streak this weekend as he finished first in both races of the Suzuki Gixxer Cup in the Novice category in addition to his Group D victories.

Similarly, Ananth Raj won both races of the Suzuki Gixxer Cup’s Open class. The second race was red-flagged twice due to crashes and was finally reduced to two laps from the planned six.
