US celebrates 250 years of Independence

The United States marked the historic milestone with nationwide celebrations, including parades, fireworks and commemorative events, marking 250 years since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.

The anniversary has been described by US officials as one of the country's most significant national milestones. Celebrations are being held under the America250 initiative throughout the year, culminating in Independence Day events honouring the nation's founding, history and democratic institutions.

India-US ties have expanded across key sectors

India and the United States have significantly deepened their partnership over the past two decades, expanding cooperation in defence, trade, technology, energy and critical and emerging technologies.

The two countries also work closely through the Quad, alongside Japan and Australia, on issues related to regional security and maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific.
