Munich Security Conference: EAM Jaishankar meets US State Secretary Antony Blinken, discusses bilateral ties

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday met US State Secretary Antony Blinken on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference where the two leaders discussed a wide range of topics.

"Great to meet my friend US Secretary Blinken this afternoon on the Munich Security Conference 2024 sidelines. Our talk centered on the situation in West Asia, Ukraine and Indo-Pacific. Reviewed the continuing progress in our bilateral ties," Jaishankar said on X, formerly Twitter. 

In the same event, the Indian foreign minister met other world leaders including the High Representative of the EU Josep Borrell, United Kingdom Foreign Secretary David Cameron, Peru Foreign Minister Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea, among others.

The meetings come as EAM Jaishankar reached Germany for the 60th Munich Security Conference (MSC) taking place from February 16 to 18, 2024, at its traditional venue, the Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich, an official statement said.

This year’s conference is being held under the chairmanship of the German Ambassador to the US, Christoph Heusgen.

As per the statement, “The MSC will once again welcome a series of high-ranking international decision-makers and experts, including heads of state and government, ministers, and diverse voices from international organizations, civil society, the private sector and the media.”
