Macron shares video with PM Modi, adds Dhurandhar's 'Aari Aari' track to social media post

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in France ahead of the G7 Summit, French President Emmanuel Macron added a unique Bollywood-inspired flavour to the diplomatic moment. Macron shared a 30-second video capturing glimpses of his engagement with the Indian leader, set to the energetic track “Aari Aari” from Dhurandhar The Revenge.

The song, a contemporary revival of the iconic 2003 indie-pop anthem by Danish-Punjabi group Bombay Rockers, brought a cultural twist to the otherwise formal world of international diplomacy.

In another post, Macron shared a selfie with PM Modi and accompanied it with the one-word caption, “Nice!".

The caption appeared to be a play on words, expressing appreciation for the moment while also referencing Nice, the French Riviera city hosting this year's G7 Summit.

Leaders inaugurate Bharat Innovates event

Earlier in the day, PM Modi and Macron jointly inaugurated the 'Bharat Innovates' event in Nice, a global platform bringing together startups and venture capital funds from India, France and other countries.

Ahead of the event, Macron welcomed the Indian PM in Nice, where the two leaders greeted each other with a hug and a handshake before the bilateral engagement.

The initiative aims to identify, mentor and showcase promising technology ventures from Higher Education Institutions and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes in India, while connecting selected startups with investors, industry leaders, policymakers, research institutions and technology partners from around the world.

PM Modi engages with investors

Ahead of the inauguration ceremony, PM Modi met and interacted with leading investors and venture capitalists participating in the event.

The programme seeks to connect Indian startups with a global network and provide opportunities for international collaboration and growth.

PM Modi arrived in Nice on the first leg of his five-day visit to France and Slovakia.

The Prime Minister was received at Nice Cote d'Azur Airport by France's Education Minister Edouard Geffray, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Space Philippe Baptiste, French Ambassador to India Thierry Mathou and Nice Mayor Eric Ciotti, among other dignitaries.

Prime Minister Modi arrived in Slovakia on Monday as part of the second leg of his three-nation European tour, becoming the first Indian prime minister to visit the country since it gained independence in 1993.
