From Disneyland to Edison, guess who's hiring Indian H-1b workers?

A set of "H-1B visas" has been brought to light in a New York Times feature, and no, H-1B is not a new virus infecting the 'Donalds and the Goofys'. H-1B are temporary immigrant visas used to place immigrants in technology jobs in the United States by outsourcing companies.“The program has created a highly lucrative business model of bringing in cheaper H-1B workers to substitute for Americans,” said Ronil Hira, a professor at Howard University who had earlier testified the about H-1B visas, in the feature.[caption id="attachment_318475" align="alignleft" width="380"]

But that's not it, the laid off employees have to train their replacements too.Their replacements, are immigrants with H-1B visas outsourced to Disney by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys and other Indian outsourcing companies. And these immigrants work for cheap.So the policy looks clear: Fire the ones who cost more and hire the ones who cost less. And then direct the fired ones to train the hired ones in the same work to save more money.Really, Disney? This is most definitely cartoonish.
