Chinese Premier Li Qiang to attend virtual G20 Summit

The Chinese Foreign Ministry has confirmed that Premier Li Qiang will attend the virtual G20 Leaders' Summit at India's invitation on Wednesday.India holds the presidency of G20 till November 30. The virtual summit will further discussions on the key outcomes and action points decided upon at the annual conclave of the grouping that was held in September.The summit will also delve into the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war and the Israel-Hamas conflict. It is also expected to push for the effective implementation of various decisions taken at the bloc's annual summit in New Delhi over two months back, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement.India has extended the invitation to leaders of all G20 Members, including the Chair of the African Union, as well as nine Guest countries and Heads of 11 International Organisations.Meanwhile, on Monday, the Kremlin said that President Vladimir Putin will set out Russia's view of what it sees as the "deeply unstable world situation" when he addresses an upcoming virtual G20 summit on November 22.Russian state TV presenter Pavel Zarubin said on his Telegram channel on Sunday that it would be the "first event in a long time" including both Putin and Western leaders.With inputs from agencies
