China: 6 injured in knife attack at railway station

Beijing: A hacking attack at one of China's busiest train stations Tuesday left six people injured, police said.The incident happened late morning at the Guangzhou Railway Station in southern Guangdong province, the city's police said on their microblog.Police arrived on scene as passengers were being hacked, and officers shot and subdued a male suspect who had a knife after he failed to respond to a police warning, the statement said.[caption id="attachment_1510445" align="alignleft" width="380"]

The Guangzhou Daily cited witnesses as saying there were four attackers. No possible motive for the attack was given.Police said six people were injured and taken to a hospital, not including the suspect.In March, another hacking attack that left 33 people at a train station in south-west China was blamed on separatists in the country's far west. China has also seen mass stabbings carried out by people bearing grudges against society or suffering from mental illness.Associated Press
