Baghdad: Iraq officials say bombings kill 8 people

They say a bomb also killed three civilians and wounded nine in a commercial area in Youssifiyah, 20 kilometers (12 miles) south of Baghdad.Police say another bomb hit a police patrol in Madain, about 20 kilometers (14 miles) southeast of Baghdad, killing a police officer and a civilian and wounding five.Medical officials confirmed the casualty figures. All officials spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to release the information.No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attacks. Iraq sees near-daily bombings and other attacks amid its fight against extremists.AP
