US President Donald Trump has proposed replacing undocumented truck drivers with American military veterans, a move that could affect one of the largest Indian-origin workforces in the United States. Announcing the plan in Pennsylvania, Trump accused undocumented drivers of posing safety risks and said veterans with heavy vehicle experience would be eligible for commercial licences. While the administration has not explained how the proposal would be implemented, community leaders fear stricter immigration checks and greater scrutiny of Indian-owned trucking businesses.
