Innovation is seeping into every sector of our life, this time it's water bottles. San Francisco based Quartz has launched the world's first self-cleaning water bottle and water purification system at CES 2018. What started as a Kickstarter project, Quartz was able to collect over $1.3 million from around 12,700 backers.The 0.53 L, ultra-portable Quartz Bottle can be pre-ordered in the US at $79 including shipping charges after a discount of 20 percent. QUARTZ Bottle - Lifestyle - Drinking.[/caption]The self-cleaning water bottle cleans the water inside the bottle in sixty seconds, using a 280 nm UV-C LED inserted at the bottom of the cap of the bottle. The bottle can be charged using a USB cable and one charge lasts up to 2-3 months.The company claims that the bottle cleans 99.99 percent of the bio-contaminants such as bacteria and viruses found in water or the surface of the bottle. It cleans the water in the bottle every four hours (six times a day).The double insulated and vacuum sealed Quartz Bottle can keep the water cold for 24 hours and hot for 12 hours. The bottle delivers pure water from a self-cleaning bottle all while looking brilliant, so there will be no need to reach for a one-use plastic bottle."Quartz is offering a discount of up to 44 percent on pre-ordering four water bottles.It's available in four colours that includes Monaco Blue, Seaside Mint, Himalayan Pink and Obsidian Black.
