Buzz around the web points to Xiaomi's much-talked about Mi 5 flagship. The device seems to have made an appearance on Weibo alongside the Xiaomi Yeelight bedside lamp. The post basically talks about the Yeelight bedside lamp, however many have pointed out that the smartphone in the picture could turn out to be the Xiaomi Mi 5, which is the successor to the now ageing Mi 4 smartphone.Xiaomi Mi 5 fakeA look at the image and you can tell that the focus clearly depicts how easy it is to control the lamp from the smartphone. Many have suspected that this could be the bezel-less Mi 5. However, a closer look reveals that this is not the case.Xiaomi Mi Note ProUpon closer inspection of the image we can tell that the device in the image shown above is indeed the Xiaomi Mi Note (or Note Pro). This we can say with confidence as the images that last leaked out from Phonearena, look very different and show off the bezel-less display with what appears to be 2.5 D glass that fades away into the sides of the Mi 5. In the image in question one can clearly see the bezels on the side of the device. In short, this is not a leak of the Mi 5. For now, the only details that we know about the Mi 5 is that it sports a 5.5 inch Quad HD display and that it was expected to pack in a Snpadragon 820 with 4 GB of RAM. Rumours about the presence of SenseID, Qualcomm's answer to fingerprint readers that works with ultrasound technology are also rampant. Sense ID chips will be able to scan a finger through a layer of metal, glass and with dust or grime on present on fingers. More importantly, the reader could also be concealed behind a display or inside the metal frame of a smartphone.
