Vodafone India to launch 4G services in 2400 towns and 8 more circles by March 2017

Vodafone India today said it will soon launch 4G services across 2,400 towns and eight additional telecom circles by March 2017."We have enhanced our 4G roll out plans following the spectrum auction. Utilising this spectrum won, we will make available Vodafone SuperNetTM 4G services nationwide in 2400 towns and across 8 additional circles by the end of this fiscal instead of 1000 towns as announced earlier," Vodafone India MD and CEO Sunil Sood said in a statement.Vodafone acquired spectrum worth Rs 20,280 crore in auction that was held in October. It acquired spectrum in all its key telecom circles across 1800, 2100 and 2500 MHz bands.Vodafone at present offers 4G service in nine out of 22 telecom circles which include Mumbai, Delhi & NCR, Kolkata, Karnataka, Kerala, Haryana, Gujarat, UP (East) and West Bengal.The company plans to expand 4G services to Assam & North East, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and UP (West).PTI
