Verizon staff vacation blackout dates indicate Sept 21 as iPhone 5 launch date

That the next iPhone is coming soon is becoming common knowledge, and practically every day, new information about the next iPhone spills. The upcoming iPhone, also known as the iPhone 5 is widely believed to be unveiled on the 12 September 2012, and 9 days later, the handset is expected to be launched in the United States. Though the dates are not official yet, and Apple has not issued any invites for the event so far, one more report that points to the handset being launched on the speculated date has just emerged.

If Apple does intend to launch the next iPhone on that date, then Verizon, one of the carriers of the iPhone in the US will require as much staff as they can gather. This handset is easily one of the hottest upcoming devices of the year. Like in the past, there will be queues outside stores with eager customers seeking to purchase the handset on the first day itself.

The change in design is a likely indicator that may propel Apple to reach high sales figures. One of the biggest changes expected in the next flagship handset of Apple is that it will come equipped with a display measuring 4 inches diagonally.

Apple is expected to launch a smartphone with a display size of 4 inches or more. If Apple adds such a display to its next iPhone, then this will be the first time it uses a display size larger than 3.5 inches. The screen size of the iPhone has remained the same since it was first launched. The resolution of the next iPhone is believed to be 1136 x 640, with the width remaining the same.

As for the display of the next iPhone, it is believed that Apple will incorporate a new technology called in-cell, which will help in making the handset a lot slimmer. This will help in avoiding the need to use another touchscreen layer. With in-cell technology; the touch sensors are integrated into the LCD.

By using a thinner display on their upcoming smartphone, Apple would also be able to make room for other components such as a larger battery, something which is quite essential for a smartphone these days.

Reports indicate that the size of the dock has been reduced drastically and is much smaller. It is said to be similar to the size of a micro USB.
