Soundbite Hearing Aid uses Teeth to Transmit Vibrations to the Ear

A rather unique device that helps out people who are affected by partial deafness in one ear has made it out into the open and received clearance as safe for human consumption.

Soundbite, a hearing aid, wirelessly connects two receivers and transmitters - one behind the ear, and one that'll fit on the user's teeth. This is how it works, the behind the ear unit will pick up sounds that originally would've been picked up by a healthy ear and transmits it to the In the Mouth Hearing Device. But how does the mouth have anything to do with hearing? Well, the in the mouth device will create nearly imperceptible vibrations that will stimulate the cochlae, thus boosting the hearing capabilities of the user.

The device uses a broad frequency range of 250-12,000+MHz and is powered by rechargable batteries. A charger is of course bundled with the unit and all the components in the device are safe for daily use.

The Soundbite is not available for purchase yet, it's "for investigational use only". It has, however, received FDA clearance so a roll out shouldn't be too far away. But how would one use this while eating, you ask? Wait.. I couldn't hear you too well there, sorry.
