Sony to launch Xperia XZs in India today; Here is what to expect

Sony has announced the launch of Sony Xperia XZs in India today at an event in New Delhi. Xperia XZs is an upgrade over last years' Xperia XZ and the company revealed along with Xperia XZ Premium.

Sony has announced the launch of Sony Xperia XZs in India at an event in New Delhi today. Xperia XZs is an upgrade over last years' Xperia XZ and the company revealed along with Xperia XZ Premium at the MWC 2017 in Barcelona. The company has not revealed any details related to the date of sale or price before the announcement.On specification side, Sony Xperia XZs will sport a 5.2-inch FHD IPS LCD display panel with Triluminos display, X-Reality Engine and a pixel density of 424 ppi. It will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset along with Adreno 530 GPU for gaming and 4GB of RAM for apps. The smartphone will come with IP68 certification for water and dust while running on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. Sony will launch the smartphone in two storage variants, the 32GB and 64GB along with a microSD card slot to expand the storage up to 256 GB.[caption id="attachment_369963" align="aligncenter" width="640"]Image Credit: Sony Image Credit: Sony[/caption]The most important aspect of this smartphone will be its 19MP camera on the rear with f/2.0 aperture, gyroscope-assisted Electronic Image stabilisation, predictive phase detection and laser autofocus along with LED Flash. The camera will be able to record HDR video along with 4K at 30 fps and 720p at 960 fps. XZs will come with a 13MP camera module with f/2.0 aperture on the front for selfies.The smartphone will pack the essentials like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, hotspot, Bluetooth v4.2 with A2DP, aptX and LE support, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and BDS, NFC and USB v2.0 Type-C connector.Sony has packed a side-mounted fingerprint scanner along with accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, barometer, compass and colour spectrum sensors in the upcoming smartphone. Last but not the least, the smartphone will come with support for Quick Charge 3.0 for its 2,900 mAh non-removable lithium ion battery.
