Samsung lets users delete most pre-installed apps on Galaxy S6, S6 Edge

Samsung is believed to be shipping the new Galaxy S6 flagship models with much leaner Touch Wiz interface, sans the bloatware it is known for. In fact, some of its pre-installed apps are now changed into downloadable apps.Now, Jeshter200, a member of the XDA forum reveals that pre-release Galaxy S6 Edge let him disable or uninstall many of the preloaded programs that includes some from Google and Samsung. This means, Samsung is clearly hinting at a change and ready to give the control to users to use only those apps that they prefer.This also means, users can simply disable or uninstall the S Voice app, and opt for Google's voice controls.Apps like OneDrive, OneNote and Skype from Microsoft can also be deleted from the S6 and S6 Edge, adds the report. The list will also include Samsung's S Health and pre-installed Google apps like Gmail, Google+, Google, Play Music, Play Movies & TV and Play Games, among others.After deleting, users can reinstall them again anytime. Microsoft and Google apps will be available on the Play Store while Samsung’s apps will always be available on the Galaxy Apps marketplace.Yesterday, Samsung finally launched the S6 and S6 Edge in India. It is now available for pre-order and will hit store shelves in line with global launch on April 10. The 32GB Galaxy S6 is priced at Rs 49,900, 64GB at Rs 55,900 and 128GB at Rs 61,900. The 32GB, 64GB and 128GB Galaxy S6 Edge models have been priced at Rs 58,900, 64,900 and 70,900, respectively.
