Samsung ChatON goes cross-platform, supports multiple languages

Samsung has updated its homegrown messaging app ChatOn and the version 3.5 of the instant messenger brings some much-desired features that could revive its fortunes in the highly-competitive messaging market. In what's a first for any mainstream messaging service, users can now recall sent messages that were exchanged in one to one conversation with their friends or contacts. Recalling the message is possible even after the message has been delivered to the other person. The users have to simply tap on the message and click on “Recall” option in the blurb. This will make the message disappear and instead the recipient will see a notification saying the message has been recalled. Another new feature of ChatOn is that the users will be able to share their location in real time for a limited period of time. Samsung has also spruced up file sharing. You can now send files up to 1GB, while group chat capacity has been increased from 200 to a massive 1001. The new version also comes with translation for Arabic, Turkish, Farsi and Hindi. ChatOn is available for Android, iOS, BlackBerry 10, Windows Phone and desktops.
