Purported Lumia EOS pictures show Nokia’s PureView take on Windows Phone 8

One of the most talked about Nokia smartphones this year is the rumoured Lumia EOS phone which will supposedly bring a "true" PureView camera experience to Windows Phone 8. While the PureView brand of optics was also used with the Lumia 920, released last year, it was nowhere near the camera experience of the Nokia 808 PureView.

The design of the leaked phone is in line with the Lumia 920’s polycarbonate body, so it looks like the aluminium body of the newly-launched Lumia 925 will not be carried forward to the EOS. Despite the large camera module, the phone is actually not that much thicker than the Lumia 920 next to it, but there is a noticeable bump on the back.

Besides WPDang’s leaked pictures, tweeter @ViziLeaks also posted alleged pictures of the Nokia Lumia EOS. It must be noted that the account is brand new, so there’s a very good chance that the pictures are fake. Nevertheless, ViziLeaks’ images show a dark grey smartphone with a metal camera section. The markings on the camera say "XX Mega Pixel" and there’s PureView as well as Carl Zeiss branding on the camera. In addition, there seems to be a Xenon flash as well as a singular LED flash. There's also a picture of the phone next to a BlackBerry Torch smartphone, which shows the EOS having a sufficiently large display.

Apart from the 41megapixel camera sensor, the EOS is rumoured to have an OLED display with 1280 x 768 resolution and 32GB of internal storage. There’s no information about the likely release date and price of the EOS.
