PSP Movie Conversion for Dummies
No need to wait for your favorite movies to release on UMD, we show you how you can convert your DivX movies to PSP format.

PSP (PlayStation Portable) owners usually have lots of queries regarding watching DivX movies on their PSPs. The thing is, unless you have downgraded your PSP to version 1.5 and are open to using unsigned homebrew applications on it, you can’t watch a DivX movie directly on the PSP. Not without converting it to it’s native MP4 file format first. We show you how.

Getting Started
Here’s what you need to have:
- PlayStation Portable (Firmware 2.0 and above)
- A decent capacity Memory Stick Pro Duo with around 350MB free space(inside the PSP)
- PSP’s USB cable (or a memory card reader that accepts Memory Stick Duos)
- The latest version of Apple’s QuickTime software (free download)
- PSP Video 9 version 1.74 (free download)
- A DivX (or Xvid, WMV, MOV, AVI) movie file for conversion

Install QuickTime and PSP Video 9.
It’s important that you’re aware of the aspect ratio of the video you’re converting or it may appear unevenly stretched. Here’s how you figure out the aspect ratio of the video:
