Oppo A7 featuring a waterdrop notch, Snapdragon 450 launched in India at Rs 16,990

Roughly ten days after its launch in China, pricing details for the Oppo A7 in India are finally official.The phone, which offers a waterdrop notch and packs a dual-camera setup on the back, has been priced at Rs 16,990 and is available in a single 4 GB RAM offering with 64 GB of storage. Customers who prefer Flipkart can avail up to Rs 14,900 off when exchanging an old phone, and no cost EMIs starting at Rs 1,888 a month. Amazon India on the other hand lists exchange offers that go up to Rs 12,500 and EMIs starting at Rs 800 a month.The device features a 6.2-inch HD Plus IPS LCD display in a 19:9 aspect ratio and an 88.3 percent screen-to-body ratio. The highlight here is definitely the tiny notch on the front which features the front-facing camera.

Powering the device is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 450 chipset, which is a bit of a bummer if you intend to game on the device. Storage, meanwhile, can be expanded up to 256 GB using a microSD card.Coming to the camera specifications, the Oppo A7 has a dual camera setup at the back with a 13 MP primary sensor with a f/2.2 aperture and a 2 MP secondary sensor with a f/2.4 aperture. The front-facing camera unit is a 16 MP sensor.The phone runs Oppo's Color OS 5.2 on top of Android Oreo 8.1 and also features a beefy 4,230 mAh battery unit.Given the competition at this price, the Oppo A7 does score when it comes to looks, but the features on offer are just not comparable to the likes of the similarly priced Realme 2 Pro and the Redmi Note 6 Pro.
