Nokia 216 is a new dual sim feature phone announced by Microsoft

Microsoft has announced a new dual sim feature phone. This may come as a surprise for those keeping track of Nokia developments. In May this year, Microsoft licensed the Nokia brand to a previously unheard of Foxconn subsidiary called HMD Global. While HMD is planning to make Nokia branded smartphones and tablets, seems like Microsoft can still release Nokia branded feature phones. Microsoft held back the Lumia brand name, and this device seems to be a Lumia Nokia instead of a Nokia Lumia.The phone uses a polycarbonate shell, with matching colour keys. There is a 2.4" QVGA screen. There are 0.3 MP cameras both on the front and back. Apps and games can be installed from the Opera web store. Features included are a torch, FM radio, and MP3 and video players. The phone offers a standby time of 19 days, supports 18 hours of continuous voice conversation, and 47 hours of music playback. Users can store up to 2000 contacts in the phone memory.The phone has a removable battery, rated at 1020 mAh. The Nokia 216 also sports the 3.5mm audio jack. Navigation is through a four way Navi key. A glance screen and vibrating alerts functionality is included. The phone is available in cyan, silver and black.  The Nokia 216 will be available in India from October 24, at Rs. 2495.
