Next-gen Google Nexus 10 tablet could be in the works

Google and Samsung may be collaborating to come up with a new version of the Nexus 10 tablet in the near future....

Google was earlier reported collaborating with Samsung to come up with the Nexus 10 last year. While there has not been much word about the tablet since, there is now word that the company could be planning to release a revamped version of the tablet in the near future.

According to a tweet by Wall Street Journal reporter Amir Efrati, it seems like Android head honcho Sundar Pichai is saying that Google and Samsung are coming together to create a new Nexus 10 tablet that should be released in the near future. While the tweet did not mention anything about the specifications, it can be assumed that the new device will come with specs that are at par with the new Nexus 7 tablet that the company recently introduced.

The original Nexus 10 comes with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels which gave a pixel density of 300 ppi, a dual-core 1.7GHz Exynos 5250 processor, 2GB of RAM and a Mali-T604 GPU chipset.

Looking back, we now know that the Nexus 7 comes with a resolution ratio of 1920 x 1200 and a pixel density of 323 ppi. In addition, the Nexus 7 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro SoC, which sports four Krait cores clocked at 1.5GHz. Other features like NFC and wireless charging support have also been announced, and last but not the least, the latest version of the Android OS, Jelly Bean 4.3. What the new Nexus 10 tablet will come with is still a big question, but it can be assumed that Google will definitely stock it up to the gills with all the latest features.
