NewsHunt expands with free and paid e-books in multiple languages

NewsHunt has been around for a while and is actually quite popular in India, regularly featuring in the top apps on the Play Store.  The news aggregating app has witnessed exponential growth in the past year and has continued to expand to other categories. Now it has updated the Android app with a new e-books section, which includes paid as well as free books.

Just like the news aggregation section, e-books are available in several languages including Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi and English. It now includes more than 50 regional language publishers across the country and popular Indian authors such as Surender Mohan Pathak, Rajesh Kumar, Rashmi Bansal and Chetan Bhagat, besides others.

NewsHunt expands with ebooks

Apart from credit and debit card payment options, users can purchase the books directly through their mobile operator and the amount will be deducted from their mobile balance or added to the bill. The app also lets you customize your reading experience by setting font sizes and background colour. Currently available only for Android, the company plans to bring ebooks to iOS and Windows Phone users soon too. However, the NewsHunt blog didn’t mention if the update will be coming to its Symbian or BlackBerry apps.

First launched in mid-2009, NewsHunt brings around 100 newspapers in 11 languages under one single roof. It's wild popularity has earned it a high 4.6 rating on the Android Play Store.  You can check out our review of Newshunt here.
