MTNL Introduces FTTH Broadband Services in Mumbai
In Hot Pursuit of the Need for Speed.
MTNL today announced the launch of their Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) services that will allow high-speed broadband access and other value added services as well. FTTH services have been launched in Mumbai already, with Delhi expected to follow on the May 1.![Fiber and Faster]()

This launch allows MTNL to provide high-speed broadband (upto 1000Mbps) and various other voice-video-data services such as IPTV and Video on Demand. This is made possible via optic-fiber cables. In case of damaged cables, data will be rerouted via other means as well, which means seamless connectivity.
BSNL were the first to launch FTTH services in the country, and now MTNL have followed suit. The plans start from Rs. 699 for limited use, and the 1Mbps unlimited plan is priced at Rs. 999. For 4Mbps and 10Mbps, customers will have to shell out Rs. 3,499 and Rs. 5,999 respectively.
