Microsoft makes it easier to move from Evernote to OneNote with a simple tool

Microsoft has announced that they are making it easier for note-taking app Evernote users to move to its own OneNote. They claim that Evernote fans acknowledged OneNote's appeal but were hesitant to make the switch due to the fact that all their ideas and information reside in Evernote.In an effort to remove that barrier, Microsoft has announced a tool that will import Evernote notes into OneNote. The OneNote Importer too will be available for Windows initially and will migrate all of a user's Evernote content into OneNote. The Importer tool for Mac will should be available soon, says the company.In terms of advantages, Microsoft says OneNote offers a free-form canvas where users can mix text, images, documents, handwriting, audio and video. It offers free online access and unlimited monthly uploads.OneNote is free on all devices and comes with Office and works with Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The company adds that Evernote Premium which comes at more than 70 percent of the cost of Office 365 Personal, which includes 1 TB of storage too.To migrate notes from Evernote, a user needs a PC with Windows 7 or later. Once the Evernote notes are imported, they'll sync across all devices – Mac, iOS and Android included. To speed up the migration process, Microsoft recommends that users have Evernote for Windows install. Users can then sign in and make sure their latest notes are synced before importing.
