Medium introduces Series similar to Snapchat Stories, but not ephemeral

Medium has introduced a new way of telling stories on the platform. The feature is called "Series", and storytellers can keep adding cards to a series over time. The slides in a series can be tapped to go to the next card, similar to Snapchat Stories. However, unlike Snapchat Stories, Series are persistent, and do not disappear on viewing. Series is flexible enough that users can add a number of slides at once, or push out a Series immediately knowing that more slides will be obtained in the future.On the reader side of things, users can set a notification for whenever a Series is updated by the author. The progress through a Series is saved, so a user can always return to a Series where they stopped tapping through. The feature is available on Android and iOS, and has already been rolled out. Users have to update the Medium app on their smartphones, or install the app to access Series.Every Series has a landing page on the web. While the Series cannot be explored through the browser, a link can be sent via SMS to your smartphone.Tapping on the link opens up the Series in the Medium app. There are already Series by Melinda Gates, Bernie Sanders, Quincey Larson and Jeff Lewonczyk on Medium.
